Finances and Tithing
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints does not release any financial statements or other financial information to its members, or the general public, so its difficult to determine its true financial standing and financial activities. Even local and regional leaders such as bishops and stake presidents are not privy to any detailed financial information on how the tithing contributions of their congregations are managed. In some countries, more detailed reporting for tax and governmental purposes is required, so some information can be gathered though. Land ownership and other ownerships in other business entities can also often be measured from other sources. Rough calculations can also be made to estimate the assets, income, and expenses of the church as a whole.
